Practising Catholicism is a bit sailing, or golf, or archery; there’s a whole new language to learn and if you’re not familiar with the jargon it can seem mysterious and even bewildering.  Naturally if you were raised as a Catholic then the rituals of your faith and the routines of your week will seem perfectly natural.  To you it might seem that it’s the rest of the world that is out of step.
